Fused Glass Art Pieces for the Home
When designing pieces I always try to incorporate something unusual that I've seen or something that literally makes the light bulb go off in my head! In the case of the Confetti Glass Rose Plate, it was spring and I love roses and the homes going down to the pier in San Clemente, CA are lined with rose bushes in full bloom. Thus the idea for the platter. Each rose is made from small pieces of what is called "confetti glass". It's small tissue thin (very sharp) pieces of glass. I used tweezers to place each petal and stem into place. I broke the pieces to make the thorns along the stems.
This piece is now in the home of a private collector. These beautiful Dichroic Shell Platters are spectacular in good lighting. One has a clear back allowing for more light to diffuse through it. While the other has a black back allowing the vibrancy of the color to pop out at you. Both pieces are spectacular when properly displayed.
This piece is in the home of a private collector. My love of the ocean obviously comes through with these pieces.
